July 7, 2008 Smitiuch & Young LLP is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2008 St. John's College Legal Studies Scholarship is Miss. Brenna Staats. The winner was announced on June 27, 2008 during the St. John's College graduation ceremonies which were held at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts in Brantford, ON. The $1,000.00 scholarship was established in 2006 by Smitiuch & Young LLP's Managing Partner, Michael Smitiuch, and Litigation Coordinator, Arthur Ryan. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student taking the legal studies course who demonstrates academic and extra-curricular excellence and is furthering their education at a post-secondary institution. Both Mr. Smitiuch and Mr. Ryan are graduates of St. John's College. Mr. Ryan was valedvictorian of his graduating class.
